CISLV SERVICES

Communities In Schools of the Lehigh Valley, Inc. provides a wide range of services that encourages students to complete school, prepare for work, and become self-sufficient and responsible members of the community. In addition to the standards-based academic curriculum taught by certified district teachers, CISLV provides community-based, integrated student support services and programs including but not limited to site-based mentoring and tutoring as well as one to one student support.

• CISLV is the premier provider and partner for alternative education in the Allentown and Easton School Districts.

• CISLV is also lead partner as a Community School at South Mountain Middle School (Allentown School District) and Calypso Elementary (Bethlehem School District).

• CISLV partners with Northeast Middle School (Bethlehem School District) providing comprehensive site based services.

In each expression of program delivery and at each location, CISLV affirms the importance of educational equity and championing student success.

Measures of Success

Students enrolled in CISLV programs show measurable improvement. In 2007-2008:

• 94% were promoted to the next grade level
• 76% improved their attendance
• 74% students improved their behavior
• 81% who were eligible graduated with a high school diploma
