President Obama Proclaims January as National Mentoring Month

President Barack Obama has issued a proclamation designating January as National Mentoring Month, saying, “Every day, mentors help young Americans face the challenges of growing into adulthood. By setting a positive example and sharing their time, knowledge and experience, mentors play an essential role in preparing our Nation’s youth for a bright future. During National Mentoring Month, we celebrate the contributions of all those who cultivate a supportive environment for the next generation, and we recommit to expanding mentorship opportunities across our country.”

Thank Your Mentor Day

January 26th is thank your mentor day. Take time out of your day to honor a mentor in your life. Showing your appreciation can be as simple as writing a note or making a personal phone call.

For every one of our success stories, there are dozens of young people who need the help that Communities In Schools provides.

We measure our success by the results we are able to achieve for the young people we serve. We carefully evaluate all aspects of our programs, and use that information to constantly improve.
